Flights and Who is Sleeping

Our flight plan took us from Omaha, with a quick stop in Phoenix then onto LA. We are currently in LA, 5 hours into our 14 hour lay over. We fly out of LA at midnight to go to Guangzhou, with a quick lay over and then onto Beijing.

So far travel has gone smoothly. Jeff did get an exit aisle seat from Omaha to LA. We rented a hotel in LA so that we could sleep before the long part of our flight. Jeff is trying to get his time switched over to China time, so he slept maybe 2 hours last night. Jeff is currently fast asleep, like I should be. Although I did not get much sleep last night, I was out long enough that I can not sleep now.

I am too anxious to get to Maizie to relax long enough to sleep. Once we have Maizie I am sure I will regret all these lost sleep opportunities. Not to imply that Jeff is not anxious, he just finally worked himself into exhaustion so that he could sleep.

It still does not feel quite real that we are on our way, but it does feel wonderful.

Men! How is it they can sleep at a time like this?!?!?! You won't miss that sleep until you get home! Have a great time! The hardest part is the flight. Going over, you just want to get there and hold your daughter. Coming back, you just want to get your daughter home and start living your "real" life! Can't wait to see Maizie's photos!!!
