Maizie's Favorite Part of the Lunar New Year

Happy Year of the Pig!


We have seen two lion dances for Chinese New Year and Maizie absolutely loved them. The dances do not last very long and Maizie kept asking for more.

We celebrated CNY last weekend with the local FCC group (the adoption group of families with children from China). Then yesterday the Year of Pig officially started. We went to a party hosted by the Chinese student associations from the local colleges. We did not know as many people at the second party, but we had a great time. Maizie enjoyed the entertainment, but then got distracted from the scheduled entertainment by her friend An Ling. It was fun because this was the first time An Ling and Maizie figured out they could chase each other around. An Ling gave Maizie a couple of very strong hugs to Maizie's displeasure. That was a switch because usually it is Maizie trying to grab onto the other kids and causing the screams. All in all a very good beginning to a new year.
